Today’s little spring outfit breakdown is an outfit which I’m gravitating towards *way* too much lately but it’s one which I feel completely myself in so maybe that explains it.
Spring is up there as one of my favourite times of year. When it’s not chucking it down (sorry April Showers, I’m just not a fan…), the sun is shining and the breeze is still a little bit fresh. The stars have aligned in that moment and I’m at my most comfortable (which is rare for me, ha!), not too hot, not too cold, perfect. I’m hoping I’m not sounding like a complete wingey-pants here but when we’ve gotten over the long ol’ winter and can final leave that winter coat behind and head out jacket-less, it’s a bloody good feeling right?!
Dungarees are something which I’ve only recently felt comfortable styling. They remind me hugely of being a child in the nineties, with me and my sister wearing them with our matching Smarties Doc Martens (please tell me other 90’s babies remember them, they were *amazing*). I could see people all over Instagram looking so bloody awesome in dungas but every time I tried some on I felt like I was 5 again and I just couldn’t get them to click. I eventually found my groove with them when I realised it was all in what you paired with them, but also that whole mental attitude towards styling and realising that no one really cares what you’re wearing. I now can’t imagine my wardrobe without them and every time I wear them I feel completely in my comfort zone. They are so incredibly versatile and seriously perfect for every season, picture chunky knits in the winter and loose lace blouses in the summer, it’s a win-win.
Speaking of lace blouses, this & Other Stories one makes all my Victorianna dreams come true. It’s genuinely everything that I love in a blouse, high neck, lace inserts, embroidered detail and a crisp neutral white. It really does make for the most perfect layering piece. There’s something about it when it’s paired with the perfect mid-wash denim that makes my little heart so happy, they just set each other off so perfectly and make for a pretty damn perfect spring outfit.

I’m finishing on a high with a pair of my all time favourite shoes, the dreamy satin Alexa Chung for Superga cream satin high-top pumps. These shoes were released around this time last year as part of the first collection Alexa Chung worked on with Superga and as soon as they were announced I knew I *needed* them. They were my best purchase last year and I have worn them far too often, particularly in the warmer months. They are just the most versatile shoes and they go with everything in my wardrobe as well as being *the* most comfortable things ever to cover my toes. I’ve just seen the new AC for Superga collection drop and I feel like I need every pair, it’s dangerous so approach with caution…
So there we have it, another little spring outfit break down. We were so incredibly lucky with the weather we had when we headed out for this shoot, it’s been chucking it down and about 3 degrees ever since. Fingers crossed it starts looking up again soon, I’m in desperate need of some vitamin D…
Thanks for reading and much love,
