Hello, hello, hello! How the devil are you? How are things going? Long time no speak…. Ahh yes, I have been utterly useless at keeping on top of blog writing lately, everything seems to be getting on top of me and as blogging is just a little side line hobby for me it seems to be amongst the first things that gets forgotten about in the chaos of everyday life. I can only apologise and say, “Sorry guys, I’ve been a bit crap at acing life lately”, not that I ever “ace life” (god that’s such a cliche, why the hell did I use it…) I tend to just amble along and hope everything turns out ok… but I’m going off track here….
As it’s been about a month and a half since my last post I thought I’d keep things simple and have a bit of a catch up and tell y’all about what’s coming up for me this summer and what I have planned. It’ll probably turn out to be a bit of a rambling post as my brain hasn’t had much exercise lately and I haven’t typed anything for quite a while… (I apologise in advance…)
So the summer season is in full swing and as everyone else seems to be obsessed with it let’s start with the bloody marvellous weather we’ve had recently shall we? (I am horrendously British after all…)
Doesn’t the amazing weather just make everything seem so much better? Everyone seems to be in such a glorious mood when the sun is shining and everything just seems that little bit better. Although working in the heat isn’t much fun and it always sucks when you’re staring at the nice weather out of the window whilst at work, the walks to and from work are just so glorious and everyone’s happier when they’re a bit bronzed (or red in my case) aren’t they?! Here’s hoping the nicer weather continues for the next couple of months, although as I’m writing this we’ve just had some rain… Here’s hoping hey?!

So what have I got planned for the last few months of summer you may ask? (or you may not, I mean I’m just assuming you’ll ask me that, lets go with it…)
So if you follow me over on Instagram you’ll know that I have just got back from a trip home to my native Cornwall. I always love going home for a break away from the bustling streets of the city and this last trip delivered as it always does. I’m planning a little write up all about my trip, along with plenty of pictures, which should be going live in the next week or so, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
My heading back home is not just for a break from Oxford, I’ve been heading back and forth now for a few weeks to rehearse for something incredibly exciting and also slightly terrifying. When I was a little-un and living down in Cornwall I used to dance (I know, I know, considering I now have the coordination of a spoon it surprises me too…) but since moving to Oxford, heading to Uni and general adult life, I haven’t been able to dust off the old tap shoes and dance the night away. That is until now. I got asked by some of my lovely Cornish dance friends if I would like to perform at a pretty massive festival in France in August with them, and after some umming and aahhing (quite a lot of slightly terrified thoughts and panicked sweats wondering if my taps would fit and if I could remember how to actually move my feet in time to music) I couldn’t resist. So in August I’ll be heading over to ‘Festival Interceltique de Lorient’ in Brittany to dance the days away, see some amazing acts and to drink plenty of wine. I’ll keep you all updated on how it goes and will of course put it all into a mega blogpost when I’ve recovered! I can’t wait, I’m terrified, but stupidly excited at the same time. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it!
Last but by no means least I’ve got rather an exciting event coming up later in August too. My beautiful big sister Rosy will be getting married and I am beyond excited to be there for it. After what has been one of the hardest years of my life after our eldest sister Jo passed away last year, it will be so wonderful to have a family gathering that revolves around happiness and love and not sadness and pain. In the beautiful surroundings of the coast of South Wales, it’s sure to be a beautiful day and something positive for our family after some tough times.
So I think that’s it! We’re all caught up with what I’ve got planned within the coming weeks. This has been a bit of a rambley post but I hope it is vaguely coherent and makes some sense. It’s been a bit of a manic summer already, with a hideous amount of time spent on trains that have a severe lack of air conditioning, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. So here’s to the continuing sun, the beautiful summer evenings spent with friends and family and the new adventures and new experiences waiting for us just round the corner.
What have you guys got planned for the rest of summer? Let me know!
Thanks for reading as always,
Molly Catherine

p.s I made a point of not mentioning the football, it’s still too fresh for all the people around me (mainly Matthew my boyfriend… ha!)
